Our Year 2 Skylarks have enjoyed another action-packed week of learning.

In food technology, the class worked together to make Eton mess with Mrs Gair. Year 2 all agreed that putting their hard work to the taste test was their favourite part - some children even discovered a new favourite dessert.

In English lessons, fireworks provided inspiration for our children in their writing. The group collected an impressive list of onomatopoeic words before using alliteration to create some exciting sentences to be used next week – stretchy, silver, sparkling stars was one of our favourites.

In computing, the Skylarks have been talking about how we can be kind online and why this is so important. Everyone agreed that telling an adult was the best solution.

In maths, pupils prepared for their geography walk by carrying out a survey in the class and collected results using a tally chart. Sadly, the weather meant the walk was postponed but Year 2 can't wait to try again next week!

As we look forward to next week, we'd like to congratulate Theo and Madison! Theo was awarded Star of the Week last week for his outstanding progress with handwriting and excellent effort in phonics. Madison was awarded the Golden Head Teacher’s award for her fantastic attitude and effort, in every lesson. We cannot wait for another great week after the half term break!
